Here's our very own FarmerJohn's account of the LWW Songs of Protest show at Largo in Los Angeles on Feb 10.

(Our JohnBoy is becoming such big star he now requires an executive assistant... so, all media requests for interviews will now be directed through ME!)  :rofl  :rotf2

Saturday, February 10, a crew from Shakey films arrived at the Farmer's Daughter hotel and knocked on my door, 1/2 hour before the scheduled rehearsal. They said Neil wanted to know if it was alright if they came in and documented our rehearsal. I knew they were going to film the show, but this was a surprise to me. I said " Sure, just let me get some pants on".  : )

The show went off great. My contribution to the show was:
Played harmonica on a song during Gale Mead's set.
I played one song solo: "Your flag decal won't get you into heaven anymore" written by John Prine.
Then I played "Bring Em on" with acoustic guitar, Caddy Truckee, 2nd acoustic guitar, Macia Claire on bass, Randy Hoffman on drums. Ginny Lawson (one of my neices on the original track) sang the back up parts with Gale Mead. They did a fantastic job!

We did an old Woodie Guthrie for a finale with all the performers. "This trian is bound for glory" Each performer sang an original verse, then all joined in for the chorus.

Encore: I lead the whole group into "Keep on Rockin in the free world". I sang the first verse, Randy Hoffman the 2nd, and Gale Mead sang the middle part (a thousand points of light, etc.) I played harmonica on it as well.

YES...of course I had fun!!  This pretty well sums it up though. Unless anyone has specific questions. I might be technically advanced enough to type in some answers here. Very funny OregonXTC! You know folks, Canadians are known for being polite, so that was his way of not telling you i'm too stupid to figure out how to post pix here. I even tried to write up a report for you but it crashed, so there you have it. Thanks Oregon!!! By the way...have you heard when we'll be paid?     :rotf2

Bring your imagination.... is that what it is?

Making music that people love is it's own reward, though. Isn't it?

Sounds like you had a hellva time...  But why does it seem that you never have your pants on..?  :sto

What was the venue like?..
The crowd?  Were they receptive of the message?  Any accidentals with dinner rev's get up and go?  Or   did most folks there come just to see the show?
Any other of the LWW artist show up just to check out the show.
Was the house packed?
Bringin the show east?
Glad you got to have this time.. John.. and if the show does come east.. YOU better be there/here..  :smi

By the way.. get your chat workin yet?
